Who we are
Primo is an English-learning platform operated by Academica (“we”). This policy covers primoenglish.org and the Primo platform.
What this website collects
The demo-request form collects the contact details you enter (name, role, school or program, country, LMS, email). We use them solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell or share this information for marketing.
What the platform collects — students
Primo is used by schools under agreements with those schools. When a school uses Primo, the platform processes: enrollment information provided by the school; student voice recordings made during activities, their scores and transcripts; and, only with consent, a voice signature used to verify the speaker’s identity. Students who decline voice verification participate fully.
What we never do
Student recordings and student data are never used to train AI models, and are never sold.
Retention
Recordings, scores, and transcripts are retained per the school’s agreement; voice signatures are deleted within 30 days of a student’s unenrollment; access logs are retained for audit purposes.
Legal frameworks
Primo is designed for FERPA and COPPA (United States) and GDPR (European Union) compliance, with data minimization throughout. Schools remain the controllers of their students’ educational records.
Your rights
Students, families, and schools may request access to or deletion of their information through the school, or by contacting us directly (below). We respond to all requests.
